Aretha Franklin Shows Off Her Slimmer Figure on "The View"
Aretha Franklin showed off her much slimmer figure on “The View” after the she lost 85 pounds due to her hospitalization and subsequent surgery last year.
RadarOnline.com reporting that a much thinner Franklin appeared on “The View” to promote her new album and while she would not talk about the reason she was hospitalized or what surgery she underwent five months earlier, the Queen of Soul revealed that while the weight loss came from the surgery, she emphasized that “it was not Bariatric surgery.”
Bariatric surgery or as it”s popularly known as or weight loss surgery, includes a variety of procedures performed on people who are obese to help them loose weight.
Huffington Post is reporting when asked how she felt Franklin said, “I feel wonderful, I”ve got more energy, I”ve changed my diet, going to Whole Foods now, getting the best stuff. Dropped the chitlins, drop the ham hocks, getting some — I won”t say better food, I”ll say other food.”
Franklin also offered some guidance to women currently in relationships gone sour.
“Don”t sit at home by the telephone,” said Franklin. “Put on a happy face because it ain”t going to rain.”
Franklin continued by telling women that they must “get out” when the spark is gone from a relationship, since that”s what men typically do. “Men rarely sit at home when it”s over. They are out and they are looking and checking, and you should get out and be happy and do the same,” she said.
