Lindsay Lohan Tapes "Tonight Show" Appearance, Receives Standing Ovation

Lindsay Lohan stopped by “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno” Monday to tape her first appearance since being sentenced to jail and received a surprisingly warm welcome from the crowd.

According to RadarOnline.com, the studio audience was apparently thrilled that Lohan stopped by to chat, rising to their feet to cheer when she entered. Those hoping to catch Broadway star Kristin Chenoweth will have to wait — her appearance was bumped due to Lohan”s last-minute sit-down.

Lohan reportedly told Leno that her recent 120-day jail sentence for probation violation was “shocking” and that the sentence “left her numb.”

Besides sharing her feelings on her legal woes, Lohan confirmed the news that she will join the cast of “Gotti: The Generations.”

The actress is currently out on $75,000 bail while she appeals the sentence, which also includes a hefty amount of community service. Lohan is due back in court June 3 for her jewelry theft trial, with a pretrial date set for May 11.

Leno”s interview with Lohan airs tonight on NBC.
