Tom and Katie agree Suri should live with her mother as settlement is reached
Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise have reportedly agreed that Suri should live in New York with her mother.
The custody arrangement was a key element of the divorce settlement, which was confirmed on Monday by the Dawson”s Creek actress” lawyer.
Jonathan Wolfe said: "This case has been settled and the agreement has been signed."
Speaking to TMZ, he added: "We are thrilled for Katie and her family and are excited to watch as she embarks on the next chapter of her life."
Tom will have generous visitation rights to see his daughter, who will apparently be enrolled in school for the first time in the autumn.
"They both love their daughter," a source told US publication People. "And Tom thinks she should be with her mother."
Exact terms of the settlement – including financial details – will remain private.
But the couple did release a joint statement through their representatives.
"We are committed to working together as parents to accomplish what is in our daughter Suri”s best interests.
"We want to keep matters affecting our family private and express our respect for each other”s commitment to each of our respective beliefs and support each other”s roles as parents."
